What is Olavs?

Olavs is a rapidly growing international online car platform based in Europe. We focus on reselling vehicles from leasing companies and dealerships in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands. Our services include paperwork assistance, logistics support, and personal manager help. We assist numerous car traders and automotive experts in purchasing high-quality vehicles.

Who can utilize Olavs' services?

Olavs is available to both EU automotive companies and non-EU automotive traders. Non-automotive companies can also make purchases, although different conditions and a higher mandatory deposit may apply.

Which countries_en does Olavs serve?

We primarily sell vehicles within the European Union but also offer services to non-EU car traders. Customers are responsible for organizing the pick-up and delivery of their vehicles, although we can suggest logistics companies to assist with transportation.

Is purchasing cars online safe?

Yes, it is safe. All our vehicles come from reputable leasing companies and dealerships, with detailed documentation on mileage, service history, and current condition. Professional and independent experts thoroughly inspect each car.

Getting Started on OLAVScars

What documents are required to buy on Olavs?

  • For EU traders: official company documents, including the company name, VAT number, owner's full name, company address, and a valid ID card or passport scan of the owner.
  • For non-EU traders: a valid ID card or passport scan, residence or company address, and any company documents available.

Why does Olavs require my company documents and ID?

We conduct financial checks to ensure compliance with VIES (VAT Information Exchange System). Your documents are used solely for Olavs' purposes and will not be shared.

When am I eligible to start bidding?

You can start bidding as soon as our team validates your documents, granting you silver or gold user status. More information can be found on our User Statuses page.

Bidding & Purchase Process

What should I do if I can't find the car I want?

You can use our AutoSearch to save your preferences for car brand, model, and features. When a matching car becomes available, we will notify you via email. Ensure your email subscription is active in your personal page. Our team is available to assist you in setting up your AutoSearch.

How does the "Our Stock" section work?

Our Stock comprises vehicles already available in our warehouse and can be purchased directly using the "Buy now" option. Detailed information is available on our website. After some time on the site, you can make an offer and potentially purchase the car at a lower price.

What are "Our Stock" offers?

For Our Stock vehicles, you might be able to submit a lower offer than the listed price. It is advisable to keep your offer within a 400€ margin of the online price. Each car allows for two offer attempts.

Payment & VAT

What is the total cost of a car purchase?

The total cost of a car includes your bid and our commission, which covers administrative fees and transportation to our facilities. The commission rate varies based on your bid amount, and all charges are clearly displayed before you make an offer. For more details, visit our Costs page.

Which payment methods are accepted?

For cars, only bank transfers from your company bank account are accepted. Transfers must be made from the country where your company is registered. For additional services, payments can be made via bank transfer or cash at Olavs' main offices in Overijse, during vehicle collection.

Is cash payment an option?

All car payments must be done via bank transfer from your company bank account.

What is the payment deadline for purchasing a car?

You have 3 working days to make the payment via bank transfer from your company account starting from the win notification date. This period may vary based on your user status. Late payments incur fees.

What happens if I miss the payment deadline?

If the payment deadline on the proforma invoice is missed, late fees will apply after 7 days. Timely payment avoids such fees.

The late fee is 0.075% of the car's total price per day, with a minimum of 10€ per day:

Your proforma will be automatically updated with the late fee. Access the updated document through the car page or reminder email. The vehicle will not be released until the fee is paid.

Where can I access the invoice?

All documents, including invoices, are available on your personal page.

Are the prices inclusive or exclusive of VAT?

There are two types of prices on Olavs:

  • VAT deductible - most prices exclude VAT.
  • Margin: VAT not deductible - prices include VAT for vehicles bought from private individuals and it is not deductible.

Can I pay for the car with VAT included?

EU companies must buy vehicles excluding VAT and declare it in their country. Only Belgian companies can include VAT in their payment. Non-EU companies must include VAT, which is refunded after export confirmation by customs.

Do I need to pay VAT for exports outside the EU?

Non-EU customers must deposit the VAT amount. We prepare the necessary EX-A document for export and VAT refund. Claim this VAT after the vehicle crosses the EU border and the EX-A document is recorded. Check export status at MRN Follow-up. Send us your bank details and export proof for the refund.

Transport & Pickup

Can my purchased vehicles be delivered to me?

Currently, Olavs only transports vehicles to our parking lot in Belgium. Further transportation must be organized by you, although we can recommend logistics companies for assistance.

What is the procedure for picking up a vehicle?

Once the car and its documents arrive at our parking lot, you will receive an email with the pick-up authorization. Complete and return this document with the transport company details before the pick-up. The vehicle will then be ready for collection.

How long do I have to collect my car from the warehouse?

We recommend picking up your car within 10 working days from the receipt of the pick-up email notification. After this period, parking fees may be applied.

Will the vehicle have license plates when I pick it up?

No, the vehicle will not have its original license plates. Our managers can guide you on how to obtain transit license plates, which must be done by you in person in Brussels. Olavs cannot obtain these plates on your behalf.

What are the operating hours for the pickup locations?

Overijse: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Can I use my company's license plates to pick up the car?

Yes, you can. However, the plates must be registered under the same company name as on the invoice (with matching address and country). Please send copies of the plates via email before the pickup to ensure they will be accepted. Ensure you are legally permitted to drive to and from Belgium with these plates. Olavs holds no liability for any potential issues when using company plates.

Car Documents

What documents are included with the car?

We provide the invoice, the original registration papers, and the Certificate of Conformity (COC), if available.

Can Olavs supply EX-A and EUR.1 documents?

We can provide the EX-A document for €50 for cars being exported outside the EU. Please inform us in advance if you need this document. EUR.1 documents can only be provided for certain brands by another agency and not by Olavs. Contact customer support for more information.

How will I receive the car documents?

Overijse: You will receive the vehicle’s documents upon pickup. We usually send the Pickup Authorization only after receiving these documents from the leasing company or dealership. If the documents are unavailable during pickup, you can still collect the car, but Olavs holds no liability. Once available, there will be a €50 charge for document delivery via a courier.

What should I do if I receive my car without documents?

If you picked up the car from Ghislenghien, it's normal to receive it without documents. Send a signed and stamped CMR copy to [email protected]. We will then send the original car documents via courier with a tracking code.

Do all vehicles come with a Certificate of Conformity (COC)?

The availability of a Certificate of Conformity (COC) depends on the vehicle’s country of origin. Most cars from Belgium and Luxembourg have a COC. Vehicles from The Netherlands and Germany may have non-original COCs, while cars from France typically do not have a COC. The vehicle description and photos will indicate the included documents.

Your Account

How do I apply a promo code?

After purchasing a car and receiving the proforma invoice, go to your personal page and find the "promo codes" tab in the left-hand menu. Enter your promo code there to activate it. Then, apply the promo code on the car's page where you won/bought the vehicle to get an updated proforma invoice with the discount. For assistance, contact your personal manager.

Why can't I apply a promo code to Stock offers?

Stock offers are already discounted, and promo codes cannot be combined with other discounts.

What might cause my account to be blocked?

Your account might be blocked for several reasons:

  • If you have a trial account and did not upload the required documents to become a silver user within 30 days. You can still log in, upload your documents, and become a silver user to unblock your account.
  • If you purchased a car and your payment is overdue. Make the payment to unblock your account.
  • If we detected suspicious activity or misconduct. Contact your manager for more information.
